What is the Ragnarok? (in real life) In Norse mythology, Ragnarok is a series of future events, including a great battle foretold to ultimately result in the death of a number of major figures (including the gods Odin, Thor Tyr, Feyr, Heimdall, and Loki), the occurrence of various natural disasters, and the subsequent submersion of the world in water. Afterward, the world will resurface anew and fertile, the surviving and reborn gods will meet, and the world will be repopulated by two human survivors. Ragnorak is an important event in the Norse canon and has been the subject of scholarly discourse and theory. Etymology The Old norse word "ragnarok" is a compound of two words. The first word being ragna, the genitive plural of regin (Gods or ruling powers). The second word, rok has several meanings, such as development, origin, cause, relation, fate and end. Ragnarok is usually as a whole interpreted as "final destiny of the gods" To get the whole meaning of the army name you must think of the event Ragnarok as the Firefall or Arclight. Its the Apocalypse. But, you must also think of the two words separately. Gods Ruling Power Development Origin Cause Relation Fate End Final Destiny of the gods All of these represent Ragnarok. Or at least, that's how I came up with the name. What is our army 'about'? Our army is centered at the West Coast server and will be expanding as we recruit members from other regions. We accept anyone, casual to hardcore as long as you meet the following requirements: The ability to type in coherent English - even if you are located a region where English is not the native language. You must Not cheat in any way shape or form, doing so will result in a discharge from the clan. Follow the Firefall/Forum rules Regional Division: We are currently based in US west but will be expanding based upon players per region. If you wish to join under the Ragnarok from a different region please apply on our forums and we will work that out. We currently have general regions for most everywhere, please post in those general regions, and request a specific region! How does the Division work though? It's something like this; "Ragnarok" "Ragnarok East" "Ragnarok EU" etc. These will all be divisions of Ragnarok that operate semi-independently. Ragnarok Admins/leaders will interact on a global level though. Depending on how big the army grows. This system will become more clear cut as the army expands, but as we do not have our hands on the game yet it is kind of hard to say how the division will go.
