We are still working on the logistics behind this and will have more details on how it will work hopefully in the near future.

We're still working out the details on where servers will be located, but you are correct in assuming "servers" are region-based. Right now the beta servers are homed in the US region (West coast) and Europe will be the next region that we are planning to deploy servers - those are the regions we are self-publishing (North America/Europe). For other regions, it will depend on Red 5 Singapore as well as the publishers we partner up with for those regions (for example, Garena has publishing rights to South East Asia).

You make a fair point, but it would offer player choice. If you lose Copacabana, you lose everything it has to offer. There's a scenario where someone logs in before work, or during lunch, or for a short period of time to do some unorganized mission runs. You would have the option of moving and being able to do that if Copa is taken in your instance. People generally like having the option open to them if ever possible as opposed to feeling like they are being forced into a situation. Regardless, freely swapping around has not been ironed out yet, it's just a high level plan that was spoken about a while ago.

What we currently plan on doing for the "channels" is placing you with people you associate most with (army, friends, people with similar playstyles) when you first log in. You will be able to move about if a squad you want to join is on another channel from the one you immediately join. Dynamic events (invasions, incursions, patrols, etc) will be channel-specific. When a massive event occurs, such as pushing back the Melding to reveal new content, it will be a server-wide effort (all channels in a server will contribute) and the Melding will be pushed back globally for all channels in that server.

Gah! I've been found out once again.

RedHanded is up and running and has already detected deliberate cheat tools we have introduced to it. Its pretty cool stuff, and very tricky to write. Thankfully we have some real experts working with us who have written anti-malware stuff for years.

I was going to just lock it but I suppose I can explain with the warning system.

It was locked because the thread was not very productive and people were spamming.
